What is Visa 482?
The 482 visa, also known as the Subclass 482 or Temporary Skill Shortage Visa, is a temporary skilled visa. This type of visa is for foreign skilled workers sponsored by Australian businesses to work in Australia. Depending on the designated occupation, the applicant will be granted the appropriate visa type. Accordingly, visa holders will be allowed to stay in Australia for 2 to 4 years.
Visa 482 is considered the ideal choice for many workers because it is considered a stepping stone to help them have the opportunity to apply for a skilled visa to settle in Australia. In addition, the Australian 482 visa is also known as the TSS visa.
Visa 482 Australia currently has 3 types: short-term visa (Short-term Stream), medium-term visa and long-term visa (Medium-term Stream), and labor agreement visa (Labour Contract Stream).
- 482A: Short-term stream for occupations listed on the Australian Short-term Skills Shortage List
- 482B: Medium-term stream for occupations listed on the Medium-term Skill Shortage List (MLTSSL) and Regional Skilled Worker Stream (ROL).
- 482C: The Employment Agreement Stream requires employers to agree with Australian immigration authorities to place workers for work.
